Occasionally it works

From Rivals:

Long known as a run-and-gun team that took quick, ill-advised shots, the Irish now employ “The Burn,” which basically means Notre Dame “burns” as much time as possible before screening for a look with single digits left on the shot clock.
The result has been consecutive victories over Pittsburgh, Georgetown, Connecticut, Marquette and Seton Hall. All of a sudden a team that once seemed like a lock for the NIT is all but assured a spot in the NCAAs.
