In 2017 Chris Collins led Northwestern to the second round of the NCAA tournament and thus removed the label that had dogged them for years of being the only power conference team never to have made the NCAA tournament. So who has that monkey now? Well . . . new Nebraska HC Fred Hoiberg inherits the title as the only power conference team never to have
won an NCAA game. But Hoiberg rebuilt the Iowa State program - quickly - and I am guessing he will do the same thing at Nebraska.
