Just get 20 wins

Twenty wins is a very nice benchmark for a program at our level, year in and year out. If a team is to the point that they expect to win 20, then the "up" years are pretty good and the "down" years usually are not horrible. And that would apply regardless of the difficulty of the schedule. Even if a team loads up its non-conference with cupcakes, that still would boost the win total to the point that it helps the confidence of the team and probably gets some fan notice. That is not my preferred method, but it would work. Twenty wins will not get an SBC team into an NCAA at-large spot, but if a team is in the habit of playing at that level, you would expect that over time you would occasionally have those special years (like we did this past season) when you at least got into the conversation for a berth. Just win 20, and the rest will take care of itself over time.
