Illogical conference members

I just do not have much sympathy for contrived, illogical conference alignments. For example, how does West Virginia belong in the Big 12? A conference ought to bring together logical rivalries. It is just difficult to see that ever happening with WVU playing a group of southwestern and mid-west teams. I hope their travel costs kill them.
